The Artist

Raised on the South coast of England, Annalea spent her childhood years building dens on the farm, capturing the flag and traversing corn fields.

In 2005, Annalea's adventures turned to Bloomington, where she achieved a BFA with Honors in Painting, amidst the changing seasons of Indiana’s artsy college scene.

Post-graduation (2009) Annalea lives and works in London, finding ways to use creativity in the city.

The Work

Memories of a rural childhood; wet grass, stoic, monumental trees and dew drenched leaves, influence my work and perpetuate my ideas about the human encounter of nature.

Elements of my work evolve disjointedly and organically. Scraps of rubbish are subscribed a new use, and in its reacquired function there is a type of magic. It becomes an illusion.

Chalk Pastel on Paper

Some people are sparkly; bubbling over into my life and making it better than it was before they came.. these are people I want to record with my paint brush.
